SuperGen i-Hybrid delivers the performance and economy of high power full hybrid systems with a less complex system requiring significantly less electrical storage and power. Simulations show SuperGen i-Hybrid can deliver 28% reduction in CO2 emissions with excellent vehicle performance and driveability. SuperGen delivers the following functions: Engine pressure charging across the full speed range Stop-Start for reduced consumption in city driving Electric torque assist Regenerative braking                             The unique SuperGen approach uses a patented power split transmission to transmit mechanical and electrical power to an efficient high speed centrifugal air compressor for engine boosting. In most driving conditions it acts as an on-demand self sustaining supercharger enabling substantial engine downsizing. Further electrical power can be added from vehicle storage to provide torque assist in the lower gears.
