IP has joined forces with major engineering services provider Tata-Elxsi to provide a new model for delivering powertrain engineering to the Indian market.

As India’s automotive business grows in both home and export markets, customer expectations and legislative requirements are placing an increasing burden on technical resources.

Some of this requirement has been met by turn-key outsourcing to some of our competitors but this can be expensive and can lead to disjointed programmes with little technology transfer to OE engineers and poor connection to the local supply base.

Recognising these issues IP and Tata-Elxsi have developed a new delivery model with bases at Tata Elxsi's Engineering centres in Pune, Bangalore and Chennai.

This harnesses Tata Elxsi's strong India presence and proven capabilities in Electronics development and Mechanical Engineering whilst providing state-of-the-art capability and process associated with the UK. Uniquely this approach promotes a seamless transition to downstream engineering activities and production delivered locally.
