IP offers specialist expertise in both hardware & controls aspects of hybrid electric vehicles from concept to prototype development and demonstration. The hybrid systems group's experience in system specification, modelling and prototype implementation covers a wide range of system topologies including permanent magnet, induction and SR/VR types, and both IGBT and MOSFET inverter architectures. 

IP's primary focus in the hybrid powertrain domain is on improving the cost-benefit ratio of hybrid vehicles through readily integrated technologies such as it's SuperGen, VR hybrid and low cost PHEV technologies.
