ultimate boosting solution

The SuperGen combines boosting and hybrid technology to produce an electro-mechanical supercharging and generating system. The device has a mechanical drive input (e.g. belt drive from the crankshaft) combined with an epicyclic traction drive, two electrical machines and a radial flow compressor. Energy can flow from the input to the compressor either mechanically or electrically. Electrical energy can also flow in either direction between the device and an electrical storage system. This configuration is the basis of two flexible, ultra-responsive boosting systems, pure SuperGen and Turbo-SuperGen (TSG), both of which can be extended to achieve hybrid functionality (i-hybrid).
