Due to a change in responsibilities, an opportunity has arisen for a talented Business Development Professional. The responsibility level is not fixed, as we have some flexibility to fit the role to the individual. There is therefore a wide salary role for this position.
Working in a dynamic, ambitious organisation, you will build on your existing knowledge of powertrain technology and will provide a vital link between Integral Powertrain's engineering service and technology development groups, and our world-class automotive manufacturing client base.
Day-to-day responsibilities will include building relationships with clients, understanding their requirements and scoping and refining of engineering programmes to meet these. You will also have a key role in the continuous improvement of our website and other supporting marketing efforts.
You will be encouraged to bring new ideas and commercial strategy concepts to the business and you should expect to take significant responsibility as you grow your own skills and knowledge. At the same time you will be working in a tightly integrated team with support from Integral Powertrain's management team who are recognised throughout the industry as leading engineers in their own fields.
In summary, the role will include:
- Regular liaison with our clients throughout the UK, Europe, Asia and the USA
- Technical market research and identification of new engineering services needs amongst the client-base
- Marketing of products and services to new and existing clients
- Sales activity in conjunction with the business development manager, IP management team, in accordance with our strategic goals
- Developing new website content and integrated micro-sites to support marketing and sales goals
- Driving customer demand for new and innovative products and services back into the business planning process
Successful candidates will have two or more of the following:
- Bachelor or Masters Engineering Degree
- Strong interest in Powertrain Engineering
- Good appreciation of principles underlying internal combustion engines, electric traction motors and hybrid systems
- Excellent communication skills at all levels (Internally and externally)
- Day to day marketing and sales experience in a b2b environment
- Commercial awareness (the ability to recognise, define and exploit commercial opportunities)
We do not expect candidates to have all these capabilities.
