Powertrain Programme Manager

Due to growth and increased Director workload, this role has been created to take technical and commercial responsibility for a turnkey diesel engine programme. As well as leading the programme, the successful candidate will manage internal and external resources, deal with commercial aspects and interface between Integral Powertrain and the client.

We are looking for an experienced and well qualified individual, with the right balance of technical, commercial and leadership skills. You will already have significant responsibility and be used to dealing with all levels in the business and with the client.

You will be from a Powertrain Engineering background with diesel engine experience, and experience on a turnkey programme. You will have good understanding of budgeting, commercial processes, proposal and contract documentation. The balance between technical and commercial skills is not fixed.

You should have capability in some of the following:

  • Turnkey programme management and team leadership
  • Technical leadership either at project or department level
  • OEM based gateway processes
  • Diesel engine concept design and analysis
  • Engine development and / or powertrain controls experience
  • Budgeting, negotiation of new contracts and contract variations. Management of costs against budgets
  • Client reporting to agreed formats and management of technical delivery

It is expected that you will have the technical experience to manage a highly skilled team of engineers carrying out the following:

  • Base engine design and analysis, turbocharger selection, matching and optimisation
  • Dyno based engine development and validation
  • Vehicle installation and application of powertrain systems
  • Powertrain control system specification, control strategy and calibration development on state of the art torque based controller
  • Vehicle simulation and performance modelling, using MATLAB/Simulink and 1-D package
