Integral Powertrain's hybrid group delivers a range of high performance surface (SPM) and internal permanent magnet (IPM) e-machines(motor-generators) to meet the unique demands of hybrid (HEV) and electric vehicles (EV). Designs are based on proven SPM / IPM architectures developed through IP's AID-EM rapid engineering system. 

OEM hybrid applications today are pushing the boundaries of permanent-magnet technology and integrated liquid/air cooled power electronics to meet increasingly demanding performance, package and cost specifications. 

IP's hybrid group have developed a range of high-performance PM machines with outstanding performance, mass and environmental capabilities (available if required, with fully integrated inverters), to satisfy the most demanding of applications. 

The group offers a comprehensive specification, in-house design & analysis, prototype build, development and manufacturing implementation engineering capability.

IP's fully integrated AID-EM system is a comprehensive set of e-machine sub-system, design tools integrated directly into the CAD environment. AID for e-machines’ functionality includes:

  • Electromagnetic concept-level & FE analysis of surface permanent-magnet (SPM), internal permanent magnet (IPM), induction and switched-reluctance (SR-) e-machine topologies
